CLA increases metabolism

CLA increases metabolism

CLA increases metabolism. More and more people are becoming overweight not just in the US but all over the world. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is by eating right and exercising regularly. But many people are looking for the quick-fix miracle that will help them shed their pounds right away. One of the biggest buzz words in terms of weight loss is conjugated linoleic acid, otherwise known as CLA.

CLA is often referred to as the “good fat” that we need in our bodies. It’s mostly found in meat and dairy products of those animals that are able to feed on grass. The reason that this is creating a great deal of interest is because the results of clinical studies have shown that CLA actually lowers body fat in overweight people while maintaining muscle tissue.

CLA increases metabolism

It has also been discovered that CLA increases metabolism, decreases belly fat and can improve muscle growth. Conjugated Linoleic Acid also lowers cholesterol and triglycerides and improves the immune system which is something everyone could use. The fact that these acids increase metabolism is a very exciting find, especially for the many who suffer from thyroid problems like hypothyroidism. Thyroid problems can also be the culprit which leads to big bellies. So again, CLA can solve a lot of problems in that area.

CLA is much more common in grass-fed animals than in those who feed on grain. So to get your dose of CLA, you can make sure you are getting meat from grass fed animals and you can take a look at the various weight supplements that include the fabricated version of CLA. It’s important that, if you do decide to go with the supplements, you get one that offers at least 3400 milligrams per day. This is the level which will be effective.

So CLA really is appearing to be somewhat of a miracle for some people. However, you cannot lose weight simply by getting the recommended daily amount of CLA. Using it in conjunction with healthy eating and sleeping habits and regular exercise is the most effective way to lose your “bad fat”.

Other things to remember

Try to drink a lot of water, eat a lot of fruits and vegetables (especially the most brightly colored ones), whole grains, and Omega-3 fatty acids (from oily fish, nuts of flax seeds) every day. Also, do not skip meals and make sure you get enough sleep. skipping meals can backfire and studies have proven that people who aren’t sleeping enough tend to be hungrier and overweight. Regular exercise does not have to be strenuous. If you can make a committment to walking for 20-30 minutes three to five times per week, then you are doing regular exercise.

The combination of your daily dosage of conjugated linoleic acid, healthy eating habits and physical exercise will get you the results you would like.

How to lose weight pounds

How to lose weight pounds

How to lose weight pounds
How to lose weight pounds

How to lose weight pounds. If you’ve decided you want to lose some weight (whether it be just a few pounds or a large chunk of your body mass), chances are you’ve done the research on diets, plans, gyms, exercises, and anything that you can find on that subject. If so, you’ve probably seen that most credible sources will tell you that weight loss and fitness are strongly related. If not, that’s what I’ll tell you now.

If you want to lose weight, you first need to evaluate a few truths. The most obvious is that if you burn off more calories than you eat, you will lose weight. You can either chose to do no “extra” exercise and eat very, very little in order to lose weight, or you can stick to a plan that will burn off enough calories and allow you not to starve yourself. It’s also important to note that overly-decreasing your calorie intake can backfire on you because your body will slow your metabolism down in order to accommodate this adjustment in calorie intake. This will cause you to actually gain weight instead of lose it.

The next fact is that a combination of water and oxygen leads to fat burning. Make sure that you are getting at least a half gallon of water every day. Your body will use this water when you exercise, and cause you to lose weight in a healthy way. Again, you must combine your water intake with some form of aerobic exercise (increased oxygen) for this to work.

Choose something that you like and can do on a regular basis like Walking, biking, swimming, yard work, etc.

As long as you get your heart rate up a little bit, it’s a good fat burning exercise. Finally, consistency is the key when it comes to your weight loss and fitness plan. So many people jump into something quickly with the mindset that they will just keep up the pace for a couple of weeks or a couple of months and then they can go back to their usual life. In reality, your plan should be a life-long commitment.

Even after you lose the weight, in order to maintain your goal weight, you need to eat right and get some activity in. So, pick an activity that you enjoy (or that you don’t mind so much). Walking is one favorite. If you live in the city, you can actually walk part of the way to work, save on gym expenses, and not have to worry about finding time in your day to exercise. If not, no matter where you live, you can probably find the time to take a 20-minute brisk walk around your neighborhood. Bring a buddy along to keep you entertained and you’ll see that the time flies. The connection between weight loss and fitness is too strong to ignore. So, pick your plan and stick with it for life.

Severe Acne

Severe Acne

Severe Acne is referred to as Acne Vulgaris. It ranges from mild to severe depending on its characteristics. The “pimples” which are medically called lesions range from black and white heads known as comendo to papules and pustules to nodules and cysts. It is further categorized as either non flamed or inflamed.  Acne vulgaris with inflammation is of a more severe nature. Most people with acne experience mild to moderate bouts.

When Acne becomes severe the lesions are usually cysts and nodules with inflammation. Nodules are severe swellings in the dermis. They are categorized as large hard bumps beneath the skin. If they are not treated even if they appear to go away they flair up again. This is called impaction. They tend to be very painful. Nodules can cause scars. Squeezing them causes skin trauma and for the outbreak to last even longer. Dermatologists treat nodules by injecting the cite with a steroid like cortisone. This type of treatment does two things. It reduces the swelling and lessons the chance of scarring.

Severe Acne also has cysts. Cysts are similar to nodules except the are filled with pus. They are usually 5mm round in diameter. Squeezing cysts makes them worse causing the inflammation and infection to go deeper into the dermis level. Cysts are also pain causing. They are treated the same way nodules are treated with cortisone. Most severe acne does not have blackheads.

Different types

Acne Conglobata is a severe type of acne found primarily in men. However unlike most severe acne this type does have blackheads that are interconnected between large lesions. Acne Conglobata does cause scarring, disfiguration and damage. It begins to show signs in men from 18 to 30 years of age. It also spreads to other body parts like the chest, back, buttocks, upper arms and thighs. It is treated aggressively because it can be treatment resistant.

Acne Conglobata that occurs abruptly is called Acne Fulminans. This is another severe acne that effects young men. In this type of severe acne the cysts and nodules in the outbreaks become ulcerated.Unique to this type of acne is the outbreaks are accompanied with joint pain and fever. This type of acne is also scarring and disfiguring.

Gram-Negative Folliculitis occurs as a result of Acne Vulgaris being treated for a long period with antibiotics. It is characterized by cysts and pustules and however a rare reaction to that kind of treatment.

Often confused with severe Acne Vulgaris is Acne Rosacea. It appears as a red rash on the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Along with the redness comes, blemishes, pimples and bumps. Blood vessels may show through the skin with the eruptions. It is more common in women but more severe in males. Acne Rosacea has to be treated medically if not and it worsens and cab cause blindness. As it worsens it can produce excess of tissue growth that causes swelling of the nose named Rhinophyma.

Home Care For Mild Acne

Home Care For Mild Acne

Home Care For Mild Acne. Acne is actually medically referred to as different types of skin lesions. When we refer to mild acne it is a skin condition that actually consists of  white heads, black heads, papules and pustules. To simplify things we just say either broken out or pimples. When  treating mild acne at home it takes about 4 to 8 weeks to start to see a real improvement.

The first consideration is getting good acne care products. Today there are many to choose from. There are even acne products for different skin types. You want to choose a product that matches your skin type.  For instance if you have oily skin you want acne products for oily skin. The other consideration is you want the product to have benzoyl peroxide in it. This is because benzoyl peroxide kills acne causing bacteria.

Facial Cleanser

Its important to invest in a  good facial cleanser. A good facial cleanser should be natural or medicated depending on the severity of your skin. It is not recommended that for acne you use regular soap and water. It good to wash your face at least twice a day with acne. You want to rinse your face with water after washing for 10 to 15 times. Let your face air dry or pat it dry with a clean cloth. Do not rub because that causes irritation.

Other products that are good to use with acne after washing your face are a good astringent and toner. There are medicated ones for acne available today. They are good to use after facial washing because they both clean and close pore. Astringents and toners also  cut down on the oil in and around the pores as well as the skin. If your skin tends to be dry and you need a moisturizer do not use one that is oil based. There are medicated moisturizers that you can use for acne. Its good to put a moisturizer on when your face is damp so it can absorb better into the skin. If you wear make up make sure to apply a medicated toner first.

Inflammation

Exfoliating is a good practice but not on any inflamed acne or active pustules. With inflammation and active breakouts once they heal then you can exfoliate. The same applies for natural and medicated masks. Do not use them on active our inflamed outbreaks. Another good facial therapy for acne is doing herbal steams. The steam and herbs help clear out pores and debris and loosens things like blackheads.

If you have acne on your body you can use a good medicated soap or the same cleanser you use on your face. If your facial cleanser is costly you can wash with a good anti bacterial soap and then apply a benzoyl peroxide lotion to the areas that are broken out. Acne on your back is harder to treat. So with back acne you have to be aggressive.

Caring for Blackheads

Caring for Blackheads

Normal skin produces oil from the sebaceous gland called sebum. It is the follicles of the sebaceous glands that secrete sebum into the skin’s pores. Caring for Blackheads. The outermost layer of the epidermis, the stratum corneum sheds the oil and dead cells from the pore openings into the outer skin layer. Then it sloughs off this debris for new cells to emerge.

When you have any acne the pores don’t drain they remain clogged and swell. The mildest form of acne is called comendo which can be open or closed. Comendo are commonly called blackheads (opened comendo) and white heads (closed comendo). Blackheads are when the sebum solidifies into a pore filled hair duct. The pore becomes partially clogged from the hardened sebum along with bacteria and dead skin cells. The hardened matter oxidizes when it mixes with melanin cells thus turning black.

Before attempting to take care of any acne issues you wash your face with warm water first.  Its good to use an acne cleanser that has a low level of benzoyl peroxide in it. Topical retinoid products do well for acne problems too. There are medicated chemical peels with with salicylic acid and glycolic acid that help acne conditions. However do not use salicylic and glycolic acidic products in conjunction with retinoids.

Removing

To remove a black head you start with a clean compress that is put into hot water and then placed on top of the blackhead to loosen it. It is actually beneficial to the skin to remove blackheads if done so correctly. This is because by doing so you are preventing further damage to the skin. Then gently squeeze either side of the blackhead so it can pop out. Do not use your nails or dig into to the blackhead. To do so would cause damage to your skin. If after gently squeezing the black head does not pop out then you may want to try an exfoliating product for your skin type. If it still does not loosen the black head they do sell metallic extractors today for you to remove blackheads with. They look similar to tweezers but have a small round opening on one of the ends. The round end is placed over the blackhead and twists it out. You do have to be careful because the devise if not used correctly can cause scarring. Today on the market the have also blackhead strips for noses. Much like a tape, you place it on the area and then pull it up quickly and it takes the blackheads out when you quickly jerk the tape from where you place it. Blackheads should be easy enough to remove and there are enough methods to try if one does not work for you on the first try.
